PHORCaST

PHORCaST stands for Public Health Online Resource for Careers, Skills and Training. The project, which is supported by funding from the Department of Health, England, and the devolved administrations of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, is a joint endeavour by the East Midlands Healthcare Workforce Deanery, the Public Health Resource Unit (PHRU), The Teaching Public Health Networks (led by the East and West Midlands) and Skills for Health.

PHORCaST will be of interest to anyone considering a public health career including: school leavers, those wishing to find out more about their contribution to health in their current job, existing public health workers wishing to change direction, and recent trainees in public health looking for their first consultant posts.

Public health is a shortage speciality at a time of worsening public health issues. This online resource will be an aid to recruitment and retention of a high calibre public health workforce at all levels. It will offer one place for individuals or organisations to go to find information on careers in public health, roles, routes, qualifications and training.
