What is Working Well East Midlands?

This is a pilot programme to improve workplace health focusing on the workplace as a setting to facilitate lifestyle change. It aims to ensure all East Midlands organisations and businesses are aware of their potential to influence the health of their workforce at both corporate and individual levels.

Working Well East Midlands is a comprehensive programme of activity being developed in pilot sites across the East Midlands as follows:

The pilots will focus initially on the workplace culture to develop the ethos of a safe and health-promoting organisation. Workplace wellness will be embedded in the philosophy, strategic objectives and performance management framework of the participating pilot sites. By developing the work environment employees will be encouraged to adopt health promoting behaviours and lifestyle change. A core programme has been developed based on a New York model of wellness. Each site will adapt the core programme according to its culture and style of working and appoint its own internal co-ordinator who will liaise with the consultants, KAM Ltd.
