CULTUR€URO SEMINAR
Date: Wednesday 2 April (2pm - 5pm)
Location: Nottingham Arena
Details: The seminars will provide the latest information on European funding programmes to the arts and cultural sector for 2008 and will also explore the opportunities for cultural co-operation projects and activities in Europe. The seminar will not only explore the Culture Programmebut also the latest programmes foreducation, training, young people, the environment, research & development, plusthe newStructural Funds, and possible new opportunities for rural areas from changes to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) budgets. The seminar will also highlight ways in which cultural organisations can build partnerships, access other European sources of funding and deal with the challenges of the latest EU rules and regulations.

ART THERAPY AND THE ARTS: SEMINAR
Date: Tuesday 8th April, 2008, 12pm
Location: Arts Council England Offices, Farringdon
Details: LAHF is bringing together artists and art therapists working with a range of artforms from across the country to examine the ways in which professionals using art in healthcare settings can learn from each other. The half day seminar (which begins at 12pm and includes lunch) will include presentations from the Northern Centre for Cancer Treatment where artists work directly with therapists and from the Birmingham Centre for Art Therapies as well as panel discussions looking at the points of overlap between arts therapy and artists working in healthcare.

Speakers include: Malcolm Learmonth (British Association of Arts Therapists), Lisa Davey (Music in Hospitals) Lorraine von Gehlen (Inspire Arts) and Norma Daykin (Professor of Arts in Health - University of West of England) as well as artists, Dramatherapists and musicians. The event will take place at Arts Council England’s offices in Farringdon.

INSPIRING TRANSFORMATIONS: ARTS AND MENTAL HEALTH SYMPOSIUM 2008

Details: Following on from our Inspiring Arts and Health Conference in September 2007, The University of Northampton is proud to host this one day symposium.  Come and join us for a day of exploration into Mental Health & Stigmatisation, Mental Health Promotion in Schools, Community Development and Arts on Prescription.

7TH EXETER ARTS & THERAPIES CONFERENCE 2008
Date: Friday May 16th, 10.am - 4.30pm
Location: Stoodleigh Court, Tiverton, Devon
Details: This year’s theme of Nature and Nurture will investigate the links between, and effective application of, these complementary understandings of development, growth, and resilience to creativity and health.  The theme will be approached with the help of speakers and artists who work with text, visual art, the arts in health and psychotherapy.  Speakers include: Peter Randall-Page, internationally renowned, Devon based artist; Maggie Crosby from Subtext, London based literature activists; John Wright, clinical psychologist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist. Carol Harvey Artist/photographer will exhibit and give a gallery talk. The day will be chaired by Malcolm Learmonth, Arts & Health Lead for the British Association of Art Therapists.

THINK INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: EXPLORING APPROACHES TO DESIGN FOR MENTAL HEALTH CARE SETTINGS AT HOME AND ABROAD
Date: 9th & 10th September 2008
Location: Department of Design, University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK PR1 2HE
Details: The Department of Design’s third conference and exhibition to focus on design issues for mental healthcare settings presented by Designers for Mental Health Care Settings Network - DMHCSN - think.  Current design initiatives highlight the need for innovative approaches to designing mental healthcare settings. Sharing the experiences of those involved in designing and evaluating projects can provide invaluable knowledge to those keen to improve mental health services.

Who should attend?
ANYONE with an interest in designing mental health units and settings: Architects, artists, designers, NHS estates staff, services users, medical staff, clients, nursing staff, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists… whatever your interest, if you have been asked to advise on or get involved in designing new mental health settings or refurbishing your own areas this conference is for you!.
