There are two nationally accredited qualifications for the roles within a Health Trainer Service, on the national qualifications and credits framework.

East Midlands Learning and Development Pathway

Royal Society for Public Health Understanding Health Improvement

This qualification provides knowledge and understanding of the benefits of good health and wellbeing, and of the barriers to making a change of lifestyle.  It is a stand alone qualification or it can be used as a stepping stone for those aspiring to become qualified Health Trainers. City and Guilds Certificate for Health Trainers

The City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate for Health Trainers is the full Health Trainer qualification that all individuals working as a Health Trainer should complete and pass. The qualification is divided into 4 units based upon the four Health Trainer competencies starting with competence HT4 then HT1, HT2 and HT3.

The current providers of the City and Guilds Certificate for Health Trainers in the East Midlands are Loughborough College and Northampton College.
