The EMPAN accreditation scheme is the new regional accreditation for physical activity projects within the East Midlands.
The accreditation scheme has been developed to provide projects with an accreditation, marked against a robust set of criteria in order to demonstrate that they are safe, effective and high quality.
The scheme has been developed by the East Midlands Physical Activity Network steering group as it was recognised that there was no accreditation system for physical activity in existence. Due to the increased profile of physical activity nationally, the EMPAN steering group felt it was essential to develop a mark which would not only recognise existing quality assured projects but also provide new projects with a framework to help them set up and deliver a quality service.
Projects should be able to demonstrate that they work within the following criteria:
- Fair
- Safe
- Needs-led
- Evaluation
- Partnerships
- Marketing and Communication
- Sustainability
